I used to help seniors shop, years ago at Safeway. I worked days and I knew a lot of them, sort of aunties and uncles! One lady walked to the store regularly, with her shopping cart, and had very poor vision. She knew what she wanted but couldn't read the price tags, sale prices, etc...... Not entirely blind but very limited sight. Turned out she was in her 90s! I hadn't guessed. She said something about having to walk to the store one time, and I answered that it was probably why she had lived to such a ripe old age. One of my favorite customers ❤️.

Buying 28 cement square tiles for a fire pit area I’m building. Those tiles are heavy and it would be nice not to have to make so many trips from the car in the driveway to the backyard.

Some days, especially rainy ones, are just made for doing nothing!

Regarding your What do you need a partner for? I regret that someone is not present to help me with a back zipper or other noncompliant garment. I once had to cut a swimsuit off.

Yeah, zippers and fasteners will get you. I have been tempted to things apart to get them off. But the idea of cutting off your swimsuit kind of makes me laugh. Thanks for sharing this.

Sometimes we just have to say thank you when we are offered help. My neighbor came over today with some beef stew that his wife had made and they wanted to share with me due to my surgery. Although I look forward to eating it, my refrigerator is filled with food supplied by Kaiser 3 meals a day 7 days a week for a month….free to me but too much food, which I plan on stopping tomorrow.

I do hope in the future you ask for help when getting your eyes tested for not only your safety but for others as well.

Wow, I didn't know Kaiser did that. That's great. Yes, I will ask for a ride next time.

Someone to taste the food you’re cooking to see if it needs anything. Someone to stand away & see if what you hung is crooked or not. Someone to hold your purchases while you use the store restroom. Someone to answer the doorbell while you are taking an important phone call.

Yes, all of those. Or to answer the doorbell while you're in the restroom.

Always enjoy your posts. I made soup today. It seemed like one of those days. But since I wanted to freeze some, I made a double batch. Of course the day I make soup the fall chill turns to seventy-five degree shirtsleeve weather. Yesterday I was in a "go get it done" mood and was ready to charge out the door when my husband offered to drive me. Okay Costco and the Dollar Store. Check. Collecting items for a birthday surprise prompted by text messaging. Obtained a tuxedo cake and balloons. Speaking of needing someone else, it is very handy to have a second person when purchasing balloons. You need them to drive the car while you keep the pre-filled balloons from obscuring one's vision. It reminded me of a day when as a toddler I went to the local bank with my mom. In those days, all the kids got a free balloon. All was fine and dandy until my balloon got caught between the steering wheel and the windshield as my mom drove home. She nearly crashed. So yes dear, you can drive me Costco and then to the Dollar Store to buy balloons.

Wow, I guess you do need a wrangler for those balloons. Thanks for the smile.
