You're doing it! I once had an acquaintance, in her 50s, she had a husband and two kids. None of them were home when she had a stroke and died in her kitchen. I remind myself of that often. Nothing comes with a guarantee.

This is incredibly important planning and information gathering you are doing. When I had my mastectomy, I had no idea I would be going home with drains. (Yuk). Luckily I have two friends volunteer to stay with me the first week - one of them was a retired nurse. all the things you don’t think of — like getting pajamas that button in front, don’t pull over your head. Who knew??
