Woman on the Loose--It's Not All Bad

Today we share a little song
21

WOMAN ON THE LOOSE

1. I’ve been livin’ on pot pies, salad in a bag,

skippin’ my showers and dressin’ in rags,

lettin’ my leg hair grow out thick,

eatin’ ice cream till it makes me sick.

2. I’m reading novels till my eyes turn red.

I’m letting the dog sleep in the bed.

I’m late to sleep and late to rise.

My entire life has been revised.

CHORUS

‘Cause I’m a woman on the loose at home alone,

don’t have a job, the man is gone.

No one can hear, no one can see.

I’m lettin’ the real me.

BRIDGE

All day long, I talk out loud.

The dog’s not sure what I’m talkin’ about.

I seem to have a lot to say.

She stares at me. Are you okay?

Oh, yes, I’m talking to someone.

Our conversation isn’t done.

I’ve got some things to tell that guy

that I thought of since we said good-bye.

3. I’m playing cell phone solitaire,

sitting in his favorite chair.

Everything he left behind,

I now declare is mine.

INSTRUMENTAL

4. I haven’t made the bed in days

or paid the bills he usually pays.

The dog gets all my love these days

‘cause when I say the word, she stays!

Big news! The electronic edition of my book No Way Out of This: Loving a Partner with Alzheimer’s is on sale for just 99 cents! It works for Kindle, Nook, and all the ebook readers. The sale will last through May 11, then go back to the usual $9.99 (I don’t set these prices). If you have ever thought about reading NWOOT, as I call it, now is the time. It’s practically free.
And you know what? All of our publisher’s Spring 2024 ebooks are on sale for the same low price. There are so many good ones, all by female authors with great stories to tell. A few examples:

The Practical Seductress: How I Learned to Take My Hat and Run
by Sue Camaione
Side Effects are Minimal: a novel

Hiding for My Life: Being Gay in the Navy
